Hypnotherapy Certification
Distance Learning

Hypnotherapy certification distance learning programs are designed for candidates who aspire to be hypnotherapists. Austrian doctor Franz Anton Mesmer is the pioneer of mesmerism or hypnotherapy. Today, hypnotherapy has evolved as a natural way of healing which is used in several medical environments.

Hypnotherapy can be used in combination with other alternative and conventional treatments including acupuncture, massage, psychotherapy, and nursing. Hypnotherapy can be used to achieve self-improvement goals like loss of weight, stopping smoking, reducing stress and anxiety, relieving pain, eliminating phobias, and providing help with depression and low self-esteem.

How hypnotherapy works

Hypnotherapy certification distance learning programs train professionals in how to put a client into a deep state of relaxation. Various methods used to induce trance like states include deep breathing, muscle relaxation, imagery or counting techniques. In such states, the conscious mind is in between sleeping and wakefulness; and the subconscious is more receptive to suggestions. At this point a link is created between the conscious mind and subconscious minds.

Once the conscious and subconscious minds are connected, a hypnotherapist can use the power of suggestion to implant messages in the subject's mind. Common methods used to program the subconscious include visualization, guided imagery and suggestions. The sessions are more successful if the client also cooperates in the process, and desires positive results. Hypnotherapy has proved beneficial in stress management, smoking cessation, insomnia, addictions, weight control, tension headaches, and pain management.

Hypnotherapy as a career

Hypnotherapists can choose to start their own private practices, or join a variety of clinics, hospitals, or medical offices. It is important to understand that hypnotherapy is not a complete healing system and does not work for everyone. It can be used only as a supplementary healing method. Earning prospects vary from location to location. Many hypnotherapists are reported to charge as much as $75 to $175 an hour, and have a yearly income of $75,000 or more.

Many states do not require any type of certification and there is no federal regulation in order to practice hypnosis. There are several schools that offer certification courses in hypnotherapy, most held to the standard of the ACHE, or American Council of Hypnotist Examiners. At present, Stonebridge Associated Colleges, UK offers a Hypnotherapy Professional course entirely online.

Hypnotherapy certification distance learning courses cover the techniques and the benefits of the hypnotic trance and self-hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is useful to tap into the beneficial powers of the subconscious mind.
